Introduction: Remote Control Robot

Have you ever looked at a real robot and went, 'Wow! I wish I could build a robot like that for myself, but it'd be SO hard!' Well, with this guide, it'll be stupidly easy and incredibly cheap. And you don't even need to be an electronics geek to do it.

Step 1: Getting Ready

You'll need:

Boxes (at least 1, which will be for the main body)

Working remote control car with remote and batteries

Tin can

Accesories like a clock, calculator, magnets, etc

Stationery for decorating your robot

That's all! Now let's get building.

Step 2: Time to Get Crackin'!

Right. Get your screwdriver, and unscrew the top off your car so only the chassis is left. You won't need the top.

Step 3: Putting It Together

Now, Get the chassis and attach it to the bottom of the box with either superglue, Velcro or lot and lots of very strong sticky tape. If the wheels rub against the box, just attach a small flat box to the chassis and then attach it to the main box so there's wheel space.

Make sure the car is facing the right way you want it to go. You don't want to finish the job and find that when you try and make it go forwards, it goes sideways or backwards instead.

Step 4: Decorations!

By now, you're probably thinking, 'How come I didn't come up with that?!' Well now it's time to start decorating. You can cut holes in the front of the robot and insert gadgets into it, like a clock, calculator, timer and even your iPood thingy. You can also paint it (but before you put any features on it!) and draw cool designs on it and add stickers and... and... the list is endless!

But it still looks like an epic box on wheels. You can add coat hangers for arms, a folder for storage, magnets on the end of the arms so it can hold metal objects, and a tin can makes an excellent head.

Step 5: Go Amaze People!

You have just built a personal remote control robot that can do all sorts of stuff for you! It can carry your stuff for you, freak people out in the dark, wander around the house, even possibly walk your dog for you when you go for a walk! The possibilities go on for ever as long as you add new stuff to it and your life will never be the same again. Assuming you don't steer it off a cliff or something.

Enjoy and be awesome!
