Introduction: Replacing My Old Kitchen Floor With New Floor

I put in new floors in my kitchen. I created this to show how anyone can replace their old floors with new floors. This is important as floors can get old or the room needs a different look but people may try to ignore it because of how difficult it is. In this I show the tools you need and show how to replace the floor with each step.

Supplies

Heat gun

Primer

Scraper

Blade

Roller

Floor

Broom

Microfiber cloth

Step 1: Taking Off Old Floor

For the first step you will need to take the old floor out.

The scraper and the heat gun is needed to take off the old floor.

First take the heat gun and heat a side of the floor. This will make the glue from under the floor melt so then it will be easier to take it off. Now you have to get the scraper and get under the floor. Keep heating the glue when the floor is harder to move with the scraper. Take off all floor tiles.

Step 2: Make the New Floor Stick to Floor

For the next step you will need to clean the floor and will want to make the bottom stick to the new floor tiles. It is very important that you clean the bottom for anything that can stick up out of the floor and will make the new floor not flat. You can clean the bottom with a broom. When the bottom is clean now you can get the bottom sticky. This is what the primer is used for. Take the primer and a brush and brush over the bottom. Wait for 30 minutes. I also heated up the glue that was on the bottom after the old floor was off to make it stick.

Step 3: Putting New Floor On

For this step you want to get the new floor and the roller. For my floor tiles I took the paper off from under the tile and placed it on the bottom and lined it up so that it was straight. Then you want to use a roller and press over the floor so that the floor sticks to the primer. When rolling you can damage the new floor tiles. I put microfiber cloth over the new floor and roller on top of it. If there are corners or parts of the room where the floor doesn’t fit you have to cut the floor with the blade. Keep placing new floor tiles until the floor is covered. Now you are done.
