Introduction: Resistor Labels

About: For the past few years I have been working on the Great Uncles Project. Three of my great uncles served in the Great War of 1914-1918. I've been studying their lives through their service records, the history…

Get your resistors organised with colour coded labels. These labels show both 4 and 5 band markings. There are different ways that resistors can be identified and I've shown that too.

Step 1: Here Are the Labels

During Covid lockdown I spent time making these labels. I hope they are correct and everything is there. If you're into electronics, I'm sure you'll be able to fix any mistakes. The hard stuff has been done

Step 2: Print Them Out and Cut Them Up

I went to the camera shop and had the labels printed onto A4 sized photo paper. Bright and true colours. I cut up the labels and laminated. Double sided. I live in an earthquake prone country so little component drawers are gonna fly during a shake. That's why I store things in ziplock bags.

Step 3: How I Organise Resisters

I divide my resistors into dividers. All the 1s (brown) together. All the 2s (red) together. Etc. I don't go by numerical increasing values.

Step 4: Put Them in a Box

Not just any box. I made a laser cut box from 5mm ply. The box label is 3d printed and I've included some vintage resistors too.
