Introduction: "Ruff" Day Doggos
A friend of mine was going through a hard time and I wanted to cheer her up so I created a dog with a little hat. I loved it so much I wanted to make more and share the pattern with you!
Supplies
Crochet hook
1 skein of natural colored yarn
2 safety eyes, 1 nose (I bought them on amazon)
Ploy fill (stuffing/fluff)
Crochet hook-4.5
Card (Optional)
1 Small skein of yarn
Button(s) (optional)
Sequins (optional)
Thread
Large eye needle
Sewing needle
Scissors
Step 1: Make Feet
Chain two then double crochet 1 and tie off. Leave about an 1 1/2 (5 cm) of tail. Make 4 paws.
Step 2: Make Ears
Chain 4, skip 2, half double crochet 1 stitch, then crochet 1 single crochet stitch. Make 2.
Step 3: Dog Body: Head
Make a magic circle and single crochet 8.
Step 4: Dog Body: Head
Single crochet 2 stitches into each stitch for a total of 16 stitches.
Step 5: Dog Body: Head
Single crochet one stitch into each stitch for 1 row.
Step 6: Dog Body: Neck
Single crochet 2 from the start, then subtract 2 stitches. Single crochet 6 then work two stitches into the next two. Finish the row. You should still have 16 stitches. This will help make the head and body more apparent.
Step 7: Dog Body: Eyes, Ears & Nose
Add ears and front 2 paws/legs by sewing the loose end in the desired area and double knotting them on the inside. Add the nose and eyes using the instructions that came with the kit they came in.
Step 8: Dog Body: Torso
Single Crochet 5 rows and fill with with stuffing.
Step 9: Dog Body: Tail
Single crochet until the stitch is parallel with the ears. Chain three then double crochet 2 coming back to the body without missing a stitch.
Step 10: Dog Body: Back Legs
Add back paws/legs the same way you did with the ears and front legs.
Step 11: Dog Body: Close Work
Subtract stitches until you only have 6 left. Tie off your work.
Step 12: Dog Body: Finish Work
Sew the gap closed and secure your yarn tail.
Step 13: Make Hat (optional)
Choose a different color than the color of your doggo then make a magic circle and single crochet 5 stitches.
Step 14: Extend Hat
Work two into each stitch to amount to 10 stitches
Step 15: Hat: Make Gaps for the Ears
Work two into 3 stitches then chain 3. Skip two then keep working two into 4 stitches. Chain 3 and skip 2 again. Single crochet 1 stitch and tie off your work.
Step 16: Hat: Finish
Sew excess yarn on the hat.
Step 17: Try On!
Try on and experiment with other clothes you could make! If I have time I'll post another instructable on how to make the clothes pictured on the cover photo :)
Step 18: Write Card Message (optional)
Note/Card message template: (only if you plan to give the dog to someone else And they are going through a hard time)
I know you're having a ruff day, so I made you this little emotional support doggo! Hope your Day gets better!
