A fun grumpy sprout for Christmas!

A quick and easy felting project - you can purchase what you need from our website below.

Supplies

You can get the fibre pack with all the wool you need here:

Step 1: Ready Your Supplies

You will need a ball of wool, plus carded wool

You'll also need a felting mat and felting needle which are NOT included in the fibre pack above.

Step 2: Create 4 Petal Shaped Leaves

Using all but a tiny amount of the green carded wool, (keep around 2cm of this to attach the hanging loop later) you need to create 4 leaves in a petal shape. Use your ball to ensure they are around the right size - see photo to see what size you need.

Step 3: Ensure Your 4 Leaves Are a Similar Size

Have a look at your leaves and make sure you they are all the right size for the ball, you'll be putting the bottom of each petal on the bottom of your ball and felting into place

Step 4: Felt the Leaves Onto the Basll

You'll need to felt all 4 leaves onto the ball. Start at the bottom of the leaves (the pointed end), and felt them into the bottom of the ball, then once the bottoms are felted into place, you can felt the rest of the leaves onto the ball.

Step 5: Make His Face

Using the cream carded wool in your fibre pack, roll two tiny balls for eyes, and 3 small sausages, one for his grumpy mouth and 2 for his grumpy eyebrows!

Step 6: Make Your Hanging Loop and Attach

Tie a knot in the bottom to create a loop.

Place the loop on the top of your ball towards the middle of it.

Place the remainder of the green carded wool THROUGH the loop, and then felt it either side and all the way around so it's secure

Step 7: Grumpy Sprout Complete!

I hope you enjoyed this fun Christmas project!
