Introduction: S'Mores Brownies

About: I make my own handmade cold process lye soap.
If you love brownies and love S'mores too, this recipe is for you!  Impress your friends and family with ooey gooey treat! They are very easy and very delicious!

This is my first Instructable, so please be nice!

Step 1: Make a Graham Cracker Crust

My original recipe called for regular graham crackers but I had these S'Mores Goldfish grahams already so I decided to use them! They turned out awesome! They have little marshmallows in them that are dried, so they break up just like the grahams.

Here's what you need:
6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1 1/2 cups crushed graham cracker crumbs
2 tablespoons sugar
Pinch fine salt

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

All I did was place the goldfish grahams in the food processor and pulsed it until I had my crumbs. Once you have your crumbs you can mix in the sugar, salt and butter. Mix well until the mixture holds together.

Press your mixture into your brownie pan. Bake for 10 minutes.

Step 2: Brownie Time

While your crust is in the oven, prepare your favorite brownie recipe. I used a boxed brownie mix, but you can use any recipe you like.

Once your crust comes out of the oven, you can pour in your batter. Even it out and bake your brownies according to the directions in the recipe you used. In my case, I used a 9x13in pan and it took 27 minutes.

Step 3: Marshmallow Time

While your brownies are baking you can prep your marshmallows.

I like to use the jumbo Campfire marshmallows but you can also use the mini marshmallows or even the regular ones. If you use the jumbo marshmallows like I did, cut them in half first or they won't get gooey.  If you use the minis, just get about 2-3 cups of them.

When your brownies are baked completely, remove from the oven. While it's still hot, top it with your marshmallows. If using the regular or jumbo marshmallows, place them on top leaving about 1/4 inch between them so they can expand as they melt.

If you use the mini marshmallows, just dump them on top and spread them out evenly. They can touch, it's cool.

Step 4: Toast It Up

Once your marshmallows are on top of your brownies, place them under your oven's broiler. Make sure you place them at least 6 inches away from the broiler. If they are too close they will brown too quickly and your marshmallows won't have time to get gooey.

Watch them carefully! It only takes about 2 minutes. Let them get as brown as you like, just don't let them catch on fire! lol

Step 5: Enjoy

When your marshmallows are gooey and browned all you need to do is remove from the oven and let them cool a few minutes. Then cut a piece and enjoy! I used a plastic fork to eat mine because they are so sticky! Makes doing dishes easier! lol
