Introduction: Santa Chroma Key Video

About: I'm a happy Movavi user and I'm glad to share some advice on how to do stuff using their programs

In my last instructable, I talked about greeting cards that you can send to your relatives and friends via mail or email.
As the holidays are even closer, I keep on spreading Christmas cheer and this instructable is about video greeting cards. This is a bit harder than photos, but with the right program, it will be a walk in the park.

What about making Santa Claus appear in your room? Your kids will be ecstatic!

What you will need:

Step 1:

First, you need to upload the files to the program. Simply drag and drop them to the timeline or use the Add Media Files button. They will all appear on the timeline where you can arrange and edit them.

Step 2:

The photo should be placed on the main video track. Move the footage with the green screen above the photo – an overlay track will be created. Double-click the photo and choose Chroma Key from the list of video tools in the window above the timeline.

The green color will be picked to be made transparent by default so you can simply click Apply. If necessary, tweak the parameters a bit: tolerance, noise, edges, and opacity.

I had another footage of Santa, but it didn’t fit exactly the way I needed it. So I flipped the video horizontally with the help of an adjustment filter.

Step 3:

I added music from the collection and then adjusted its length to the duration of the clips. Then I overlayed some title samples. You can adjust the font, the color and the size of the caption. Next, you click Export, and there you have it – a nice video greeting card.

That’s it! Make a similar video and surprise your family! May your Christmas be jolly!
