Intro: Sausage Cheese Balls

A new creation of mine, sausage cheese balls, these are honestly fantastic when in a hurry out the door to school or work, on a lazy cool morning, snacking, and as excellent party appetizers!!!!

STEP 1: Ingredients

1 I a large skillet, . hot pork sausage

3 cups baking mix, Bisquick, Jiffy Mix, etc.

1 lbs. Sharp Cheddar Cheese, shredded

2 tbsp. dried minced onions

½ tsp. smoked paprika

¾ to 1 cup whole milk

STEP 2: Directions

In a large skillet over medium heat add sausage. Cook, stirring occasionally, while breaking the sausage up to small pieces, cooking until browned. The last few minutes of cooking add the minced onions, mixing well.

STEP 3:

Drain sausage and set aside.

STEP 4:

In a large mixing bowl, add baking mix, smoked paprika, and parsley. Whisking together to break up clumps of the mix and evenly incorporate the spices.

STEP 5:

Then add cheese and sausage, mixing well.

STEP 6:

Stir in the milk until the dough reaches desired consistency, (for "rounder" sausage balls, use only 3/4 cup milk).

STEP 7:

Prepare a baking sheet(s) with non stick spray, or line with parchment paper.

STEP 8:

Preheat oven to 350°F.

STEP 9:

Depending one the consistency, either spoon dough onto prepared sheet(s). Or if you used less milk... form dough into walnut size balls. Balls will expand, so don't crowd them on the baking sheet(s).

STEP 10:

Bake in preheated oven, until golden brown, approximately 15-20 minutes.

STEP 11:

When golden, remove from oven and cool completely on a cooling rack. Store in a closed container or a zip lock bag, storing in the refrigerator, due to meat content.
