Halloween is creeping closer, and what’s more terrifying than a pumpkin that talks back? 🎃
Get ready for the ultimate spooky decoration: an easy-to-use, motion-activated pumpkin that plays eerie sounds and lights up with animated, glowing eyes!
Whenever movement is detected by the IR sensor, this scary pumpkin will randomly play from 1 to 5 spine-chilling sounds while its menacing red eyes come to life with haunting animations.
Perfect for scaring trick-or-treaters and creating a truly haunting atmosphere!
Supplies
- Plastic pumpkin
- Arduino Pro mini (or arduino nano)
- MP3-tf-16p
- IR sensor module
- Micro SD card, at least 1gb
- 2 x red LEDs
- 2 x 100ohm resistors
- Speaker 4/8 ohm
- 3.7 LiPo battery (you may use 2x AAA battery instead)
- Battery charger module
- Switch

Step 1: Wiring
First, we need to connect the components as shown in the attached diagram.
Step 2: Program Arduino
Next, we need to program the Arduino Super Mini using a specific programmer. I’m using a UART-USB programmer from Amazon (code attached).
