Introduction: Scary Talking Pumpkin

Halloween is creeping closer, and what’s more terrifying than a pumpkin that talks back? 🎃


Get ready for the ultimate spooky decoration: an easy-to-use, motion-activated pumpkin that plays eerie sounds and lights up with animated, glowing eyes!

Whenever movement is detected by the IR sensor, this scary pumpkin will randomly play from 1 to 5 spine-chilling sounds while its menacing red eyes come to life with haunting animations.

Perfect for scaring trick-or-treaters and creating a truly haunting atmosphere!

Supplies

  1. Plastic pumpkin
  2. Arduino Pro mini (or arduino nano)
  3. MP3-tf-16p
  4. IR sensor module
  5. Micro SD card, at least 1gb
  6. 2 x red LEDs
  7. 2 x 100ohm resistors
  8. Speaker 4/8 ohm
  9. 3.7 LiPo battery (you may use 2x AAA battery instead)
  10. Battery charger module
  11. Switch

Step 1: Wiring

First, we need to connect the components as shown in the attached diagram.

Step 2: Program Arduino

Next, we need to program the Arduino Super Mini using a specific programmer. I’m using a UART-USB programmer from Amazon (code attached).

Step 3: Assembly

Now it’s time to place all the components inside the empty pumpkin. Let your imagination run wild and create the scariest pumpkin ever!
