Introduction: Screaming Trees: Birdhouse

Screaming trees, giving trees a voice. At Havas we have developed a self-sufficient chainsaw-detecting device, which is mounted on tree trunks. Via a built in microphone, it infallibly detects chainsaws within a 20 meter-area and sends out a warning signal if the tree is about to get cut down.

We decided to open this project to everyone that feels like it can make a difference in their own neck of their wood. Now you too can build your own laser cut birdhouse.

Step 1: NEEDED MATERIALS

• Laser cutter

• 3d Printer

• PLA filament (ABS is advised)

• MDF or your preferred material

• 8mm x 10mm screws + fasteners

• Hotglue gun + refill

• Spray paint (color is up to you)

• Tree hooks

Step 2: STEP 2

Assemble all laser cut parts, 3D printed
pieces and miscellaneous components.

Step 3: STEP 3

Take the front panel and insert the 3D printed perch into it. Keep it in place by using the lock part.

Step 4: STEP 4

Fold the birdhouse in a form of a triangle and lock the upper part with the screws and fasteners.

Step 5: STEP 5

Insert the front panel starting from the bottom.

Step 6: STEP 6

Insert the 3D printed roof, starting from the bottom and press it firmly in place.

Step 7: STEP 7

Insert the back panel starting from the bottom.

By using hooks, you can now easily attach your Screaming Trees to a tree near you.
