Introduction: Scrumptious Snickerdoodles

Who couldn't love everything about snickerdoodles. They are easy to make using common pantry items. They are a light cookie and with some minor changes you can create a soft or a crisp cookie. Oh, and of course who can ignore the name? “Snickerdoodles” are drop cookies topped with cinnamon sugar that are cited in print from at least 1889.

Step 1: Ingredients:

1/4 cup butter

1/4 cup shortening

3/4 cup sugar

1 egg

1 1/2 cup flour

1 tsp. cream of tarter

1/2 tsp. baking soda

1/4 tsp salt

2 tbsp. sugar (for coating)

2 tsp. cinnamon (for coating)

Step 2: Step 1:

heat oven to 400°F

Step 3: Step 2:

In a large mixing bowl beat butter, shortening, 3/4 cup sugar and egg until smooth.

Step 4: Step 3:

in a small bowl sift together with fork flour, cream of tarter, baking soda and salt.

Step 5: Step 4:

Dump flour mixture into lager bowl with sugar mixture. Beat on low until smooth.

Step 6: Step 5:

Cover dough with tinfoil then place it in refrigerator for 2 hours.

Step 7: Step 6:

In a small bowl mix 2 tbsp sugar with the 2 tsp cinnamon.

Step 8: Step 7:

Take a small amount of dough and roll into a walnut size ball. Then roll in cinnamon and sugar. Then place two inches apart on a nun greased baking sheet.

Step 9: Step 9:

place in heated oven on middle rack and bake for 10-13 min or until golden brown.

Step 10: Step 10:

once done take out of oven and immediately take cookies off with metal spatula and place on wire cooling rack for 3 min for cooling

Once cool place on plate, serve and enjoy ;)
