Step 1: Setup Hardware

  • Assemble using instructions included with Aluminum case and power supply, leave the Micro SDHC card out for now, and don't supply power to the Raspberry PI yet
  • Connect USB Mouse & Keyboard
  • Connect a HDMI Monitor
  • Connect network cable to your existing internet router

And yes I know the heatsinks aren't aligned properly, I'm not very happy about it, but it does work. I used the kit supplied double sided tape, I plan to use proper thermal paste in the future.

Step 2: Prepare MicroSDHC Memory Card

  • Download RaspBerry Raspbian with desktop
  • balenaEtcher is a graphical SD card writing tool that works on Mac OS, Linux and Windows, and is the easiest option for most users. balenaEtcher also supports writing images directly from the zip file, without any unzipping required. To write your image with balenaEtcher
  • Download the latest version of balenaEtcher and install it.
  • Connect an SD card reader with the SD card inside.
  • Open balenaEtcher and select from your hard drive the Raspberry Pi .img or .zip file you wish to write to the SD card.
  • Select the SD card you wish to write your image to.
  • Review your selections and click 'Flash!' to begin writing data to the SD card.

Step 3: Power Up

  • Insert MicroSD card into RaspberryPi as shown above
  • Plug in CanaKit Raspberry Pi 4 Power Supply (USB-C) into RaspBerryPI and wall outlet
  • Should look similar to desktop in the above image
  • Wait for desktop to appear
  • Step 4: Install Software

  • Open console (Top left in above image) and run the following:
  • wget
  • sudo chmod ug+x
  • sudo ./
  • Step 5: Configure Your Devices Use Your New Secure WiFi Router

  • Install root certificate for your PC/Mac/iPhone/Android by downloading and double clicking/tapping the file
  • Connect RaspBerryPI to back of your router with purchased ethernet cable
  • Connect your devices to the SecuritasWall access point. Default password is "somepassword" no quotes.Note, I'm making an administration feature to make management easier. Have a suggestion or issue? Use submit a GitHub Issue
