Introduction: SelfCAD Cable Guard Pipe Tutorial

Today we can learn how to create 3d cable guard pipe with seflcad. In this tutorial, we use basic command like cylinder, align, copy offset, union dan subtract.

Step 1: Creating Base

1. Create cylinder object with top radius 20, bottom radius 20 and height 10

2. Select polygon on the left, next you can select top cylinder, delete

3. Deselect polygon and click modify > add thickness, give thickness -1

Step 2: Creating Pipe Hole

1. Creating cylinder with top radius 4, bottom radius 4 and height 15. Next you can rotate cylinder 90 degree

2. Copy cylinder, click utilities > align and change reference in to base ( in image mesh 6). You can change into middle and back, and z axis into 5

3. Click tools > copy offset. Change position into pivot, number of copy 3 and click copy

4. Click stitch & scoop > click subtract. Select all cylinder for object subtract, apply

Step 3: Creating Pipe

1. Select cylinder, next click polygon. You can select face front and back cylinder (delete). next click modify > add thickness -1. Click utilities > align, set reference into base (difference 1). Change into middle, back and z axis 5

2. Create cylinder with top radius 19, bottom radius 19 and height 10. Select this object and cylinder pipe, click stitch & scoop, click subtract. For subtract object you can select cylinder with radius 19. apply.

3. Click tools > copy offset, change position into pivot and number of copy 3, copy

Step 4: Creating Lock Hole

1. Create cylinder with top radius 1,5, bottom radius 1,5 and height 10. Click polygon and select top cylinder delete. Click modify > add thichness -1. Click utilities > align, for reference select base part 1 (you can change base name into part 1), position in bottom middle, move x axis 15 and z axis 9

2. Click tools > copy offset. change position into pivot and number of copy 1, copy

Step 5: Creating Cover

1. Create cylinder with top radius 20, bottom radius 20 and height 2. Move cylinder to the top. Change name into part 2

2. Create cylinder with top radius 1,5, bottom radius 1,5 and height 4. Click utilities > align, reference part 2 and position bottom center, for x axis 15 and z axis 9. click tools copy offset, change position into pivot, number of copy 1, copy. next you can subtract (select 3 object), click stitch & scoop, subtract with 2 cylinder, apply. Change name into part 2

3. We create cylinder with top radius 1,5, bottom radius 1,5 and height 1. Click utilities > align, reference part 2 and position bottom center, for x axis 15 and z axis 9. You can select polygon, and delete polygon in top and bottom, next modify > add thickness -1. click tools copy offset, change position into pivot, number of copy 1, copy.

Now we already create cable guard pipe.
