Introduction: Sharpie Art

Ever looking for that cool piece of artwork to just hang in a room that is simple but yet colorful? Here is a cute little project that you can make with just sharpie/permanent marker and alcohol.

Step 1:

The first step to this project is to get your canvas and color any type of design on the canvas with your sharpies. In this case, I did an effect in which the color drips down the canvas. The first thing you want to do is take your sharpies and color across the top of the canvas. It doesn't have to be perfectly shaded in. You can do a gradient effect or whatever you want.

Step 2:

After you finish coloring whatever design you want on your canvas, you are going to grab a dropper or syringe of some sort and grab your isopropyl alcohol and fill your dropper/syringe. If you are doing the design with the color "melting" down the canvas, then you would want to prop your board up against something. I propped my canvas up against the alcohol bottle. I also placed some paper towels under the canvas so that the runoff wouldn't go everywhere.

Step 3:

Now you are going to take your dropper/syringe full of the alcohol and slowly drop it along the top. You will start to notice immediately the color will begin running down the canvas. Some of the colors will blend which adds a pretty nice effect to the whole thing.

Step 4:

Now you are just going to wait for the canvas to dry and there you have a pretty cool wall decor that was pretty simple to make. There are other designs you could do such as galaxy or tie-die. This design was more of a color melting effect.
