Introduction: Sheep Hat

I made this hat because I thought it would be adorable. I had leftover supplies from an owl, a baby hat and a reversible chick, so I grabbed my leftovers and sat down for a crochet project.

SC= single crochet

DC= double crochet

HDC= half double crochet

Supplies

White fluffy yarn

White non-fluffy yarn

Black fluffy yarn

Pink non-fluffy yarn

Stuffing if desired

Crochet hook to match size of yarn

Step 1: Starter Circle

With fluffy white yarn, chain 8, join chain, single crochet 2 in each all the way around

Step 2: Expanding

SC two in first stitch, SC one in next stitch, repeat around.

SC two in first stitch, SC one in each of the next two stitches repeat around.

SC two in first stitch, SC one in each of the next three stitches repeat around.

SC two in first stitch, SC one in each of the next four stitches repeat around.

SC two in first stitch, SC one in each of the next five stitches repeat around.

DC two in first stitch, DC one in each of the next six stitches repeat around.

Step 3: Finishing the Hat

DC around five times

Step 4: The Sheep

Using white non-fluffy yarn magic circle six with DC. DC two in each stitch

Step 5: The Sheep: Expanding

DC two in first stitch, DC one in next stitch. Repeat around.

DC two in first stitch, DC one in each of the next two stitches, repeat around.

DC two in first stitch, DC one in each of the next three stitches, repeat around.

DC two in first stitch, DC one in each of the next four stitches, repeat around.

DC around once.

Step 6: The Sheep: Ears

Chain seven from the end of the sheep head.

SC in second stitch

HDC in third stitch

DC in next two stitches

HDC in sixth stitch

SC in final stitch

Slip stitch in head where it was connected. Repeat on the other side of the chain. Tie off, and repeat this step on the other side of the head.

Step 7: The Sheep: Facial Details.

Take the black fluffy yarn. Crochet a SC across two stitches, chain three, join into original stitch. Do this for the other eye.

Switch to the pink yarn and do the same thing you did with the eye: crochet a SC across two stitches, chain three, join into original stitch.

Step 8: Attach the Face

Put the face where you want it, flip it so the sides are curled up around the face, SC the head to the hat. Go behind the ears. When you are most of the way around insert the stuffing. Finish crocheting around. Pull all tails into the hat. Enjoy your comfy hat.
