Intro: Simple & Subtle Eyeshadow

Need a simple everyday look? Don't like to fuss over your makeup too much in the morning? Here's a simple and subtle eyeshadow look that will give your eyes depth but doesn't take too long or require much.

This look is easy to mix and match colors and you only need 2!

This is my everyday look that I wear to work often. I've also worn this out to bars, to graduations, to picnics, it's very versatile.

Let's get started!

STEP 1: Supplies

You will need:

  1. A light eye primer, cream eyeshadow, concealer, or foundation.
  2. A natural brown or shade of gray pressed or lose eyeshadow.
  3. Paddle brush (optional).
  4. Eyeshadow application brush (or wand).

I am using:

  1. MAC Paint Pot - Painterly
  2. MAC Eyeshadow - Coquette
  3. MAC Brush #252 (or you can replace this brush by just using your ring finger)
  4. MAC Brush #217 (or eyeshadow wand)

STEP 2: Prime

Prime your eye with your light primer, cream eyeshadow, or foundation/concealer. This should be a very natural color. If possible, slightly lighter than you natural skin tone.

Apply all over your lid using your paddle brush or ring finger.

If you ever apply makeup with your fingers, you should use your ring finger. It is the weakest finger on your hand and will prevent you from applying too much pressure.

STEP 3: Eyeshadow

Apply your eyeshadow color to your crease. You don't have to worry about getting this on your lid. Ensure you get a good layer on your crease. You can also apply under your eye as well. This is optional.

STEP 4: Eyelid

Take your primer, cream shadow, or concealer/foundation, and apply to the top of your lid, below your crease, and feel free to lay it on thick.

Using your finger or paddle brush, dab to blend the primer/cream shadow into your crease color.

And that's it!

STEP 5: Polish & Done!

This look is great by itself, with eyeliner, and mascara.

All of these add-ons are optional.

I love wearing a bright lip with this look because the eyes are so subtle.

I do this look with all shades of brown and even black. You can even do this look with color!

Hope you try this look out and love it just as much as I do!

Stay beautiful<3
