Introduction: Simple Wood Gas Stove
Hey everyone this is my first 'ible and it may not be the best so bare with me. this is a simple and quick wood gas stove to make and is light weight and small.
I did not invent this and do not take responsibility for what you do with this stove or if you burn your self
So PLEASE BE SAFE FIRE IS DANGEROUS!!!!!
Step 1: Materials
most important:
1) can
2) knife
3) marker
optional:
1) can opener (recommended)
2) church key can opener
3) needle nosed pliers
Step 2: Cleaning the Stove.
this part is fairly simple.
1) peel off label then open the can and empty out the contents of the can.
for this you can use a can opener (recommended) or if you don't have one you can use a knife.
the can does not have to be the same size as the one I am using but the is a more compact one and lighter to carry.
I made pasta sauce with the tomato paste in the can. yum.
Step 3: Now to Make the Stove
now that the body is clean, we can make the stove.
1) take either the knife or church key can opener and make a row of holes on the bottom of the can.
i have 6 holes but you can put more.
2) take the maker and make a square, triangle, or circle in the middle of the can.
this is the fuel port were all of the fuel will be put into the stove.
3) next cut out the shape with your knife or a pair of sciccors.
I find that if you start the cut with the knife then finish with the sciccors is easier.
Step 4: Finishing the Stove
once you have finished that you are ready to light it.
i wanted more air in-flow so i add more holes at the top
to light the stove you gather some wood and the break them into small pieces. next you put them into the stove and light it with a piece of paper. soon you can roast marshmallows, hotdogs, or campfire bread in a light weight, compact, and very portable stove.
THANKS FOR VEIWING AND HOPE THIS HELPED LEAVE COMMENTS OR PICTURES OF YOUR OWN WOOD GAS STOVE. ALSO SUBSCRIBE.

Another cheap woodgas stove. Great :)
I see a lot of these stoves around. Some easier to make and others prettier. I have experimented with about 5 different designs. This one works best so far:

This is just a stove, not a wood-gas stove.
"Wood gas" is made by heating wood in an oxygen-free environment.

The gas part comes into play with the upper holes in the inner can. The preheated air coming through those holes gives the unburned gasses a chance to burn as well. The heated air injection is what separates it from a wood stove. I know this doesn't jive with the tradition idea of a wood gassifier, but it falls in the same ballpark (even if it's in the upper decks)

I've been through just about every wood gas stove on this site and after building one, i've found an interesting trick. When you make the upper holes in the inner can, if you use your puncturing device to angle them all in the same direction (clockwise, counter-clockwise) it gives the flame a wonderful vortex effect, and concentrates the flame to the center. Not sure if this is useful to anyone, but it looks really cool

There are lots of these types of woodgas stoves. You can find some good backpacking stoves at campsaver.com ...here's a link to a similar compact backpack stove that's on the market as well. These are good to look at and copy when doing DIY. The trick is the size and placement of holes so that you get a good burn.

one thanks for viewing and 2 it was late so i did not have the wood. 3 it does gasify when you burn the wood inside the chamber.

Where is the "gas" part?
When I think "wood gas" I think gasification/gasifier.
