Slingbow

In this Instructable I will show you how to transform a Marksman slingshot into a slingbow (it fires arrows). This is a very simple project that I did for right around $25.

Keep in mind that this is a very fun project, but it is also very dangerous and can result in death or serious injury if used improperly.

Step 1: Step 1: Drill the Hole

I drilled a hole into the top front of the slingshot. I made the hole for a 1/4" bolt.

Step 2: Step 2: Add the Arrow Rest

I purchased a non-name-brand arrow rest from Amazon to save money. I then attached the arrow rest using a 1/4" hex head bolt. Because of the design of this particular model of slingshot, it was rather difficult to attach the arrow rest (some designs are much much easier to attach them to, I just had this one on hand)

Step 3: Step 3: Choosing and Adding the Rubber Band

I haven't added the rubber band to mine yet, but there are yellow, red, and black bands that you can get. The standard are the yellow bands, which are basic strength and life expentancy. The red ones have more power as well as a longer life expectancy. The black ones have even more power and a longer life expectancy yet. I plan on getting a black band, and I'll update when I do. But choosing the band is users choice, keep in mind the more powerful they are, the more difficult they are to pull.

Step 4: Step 4: Reverting Back to a Slingshot

This particular model of arrow rest has hex bolts on it so it can be easily taken apart. Just take off the up right bracket with the rest on it, and leave the bottom bracket still attached for an easy conversion.
