Introduction: Small, Simple Pedestal / Display Table

This is a simple, customize-able, display table that you can place anywhere you like, whether it is for decoration, or to serve a purpose.

Supplies

You will need:


  1. A computer. As long as it can run Tinkercad, you're fine.
  2. Tinkercad.
  3. Skills. Not a lot, you just need to know how to use the tools.

Step 1: Making a New Project

Open Tinkercad. You might need to make an account if you don't have one, and go to the dashboard. Click the create button. When you see the drop-down options, hit 3D Design.

Step 2: Finding the Revolve Tool

Once the new project loads, look at the side panel. Look for the Revolve Sketch. This is what you will need in order to make the curves of the ends of the ship. Click on it. When you hover your mouse over the workplane, it will show a silhouette of the shape. You can either click or press "c" to place it down.

Step 3: Making the Base of the Table

When you place it, it will put you in the editing mode for the Revolve Sketch. You can adjust the design of this part to your liking. This will become the base of the table. The design shown above is mine.

Step 4: Making the Top

You can either use a simple cylinder, or you can use another Revolve Sketch. I chose to use a Revolve Sketch in order to make a top with a bit of detail.

Step 5: Putting the Two Pieces Together

Next, you will need to elevate the base, so that it doesn't get a part of it cut off. You will then need to select both by holding Shift + LMB. Make sure the square touches both shapes. Once they are both highlighted, you need to click the Align Tool. Now, you need to click on both of the middle dots, in order to perfectly center them with each other. Once you do this, they should align and the dots will become greyed-out. Highlight them once more, and click Join.

Step 6: Enjoy the Finished Product!

That's it! You have now made a small pedestal/table. You can place this as decoration, or for another purpose. I hope you enjoyed making this.
