Soldering Tile (AKA the Table Protector)

My parents are starting to yell at me for getting melted solder and flux residue on the the white tile table. It comes off but is a bit tricky some times.

This was a very easy project to do. It cost under $10 and can be made in less than 5 minutes.

Sorry about the pictures being a lower quality then some of my other instructables. I got to the house before my parents got there with their camera, so I used my phone.

Step 1: Materials

You need a few things for this.

12 inch square tile. The color material type of tile is your choice. This was fancy cream marble at $4.75 a square foot. I wanted a piece of black granite with white specks ($2 a square foot) but this looked nicer.
Rubber feet or bumpers. $2-$3 These I recommend. The big ones are 3/4 Square by 1/2 thick. They are available at Lowes

Step 2: Attach the Feet.

Flip the tile over and apply the feet. I did them about at inch from each edge on the corners.

Step 3: Results

The tile is heavy enough to not slide around on the table and the feet "stick" to the point that trying to slide the tile the table slides on the floor. So far it has be easy to clean.
