Introduction: Standing Table on Wheels - From Recycled Desktops

This standing desk is made from recycled desktops and was incredibly satisfying to make. I am not sure which was more satisfying, using recycled materials, making something so useful, or hiding all the cut edges.

Designed for teachers to use in the classroom, it has shelves and a flat top, to stop your mouse from rolling away

This design hides all the cut edges and gives a neat finish

If you give it a go I would love to see your finished products in the comments, have fun

Supplies

Desktops

2 x 600mm x 1200mm

2 x 600mm x 600mm

Drill

Saw to make the long cuts neatly

screws

brackets

bolts and lock nuts for the wheels

4 castor wheels

Step 1: Cut Boards to Size

I have colour coded the parts, the same colour parts come from one sheet

Step 2: Assemble Parts

I used small brackets and 16mm screws to assemble the parts

If you think through the assembly you should be able to hide all cut edges

The wheels attach with bolts and lock nuts

On one of the first attempts at this project I used 16mm screws to attach the caster wheels, they broke out after the first obstacle they were pushed over.
