Introduction: Starbucks Building Design
I designed a new model for Starbucks. This version is designed to fix certain, pre-existing issues such as poor lighting, lack of space for wheelchair users, and mediocre aesthetics for some particular stores.
Step 1: Collect Data
Collected data on which designs and structures the customers prefer.
Step 2: Sketch and Brainstorm
Came up with preliminary sketches, physical models, and CAD models using blender (building models) and Fusion 360 (chair and table models).
Step 3: Further Design
Drew more sketches following the initial sketches. The designs followed the aforementioned ideas.
Step 4: Plan Sketch
Finalized the design and created plan sketches for all 3 floors. The website used to create this was: https://www.roomsketcher.com/
Step 5: Making Physical & CAD Model
The pictures show the progression of the physical and CAD model.
Materials used for physical model: styrene board, clear plastic sheet (plexiglass), wood, fake grass, and other basic tools for fabrication.
Step 6: CAD Model Results
Model in-context: Presents how the Starbucks design model is going to look like in a city setting.
Step 7: Physical Model Results
The finished version of the physical model. It was shot in different angles and lightings to get a holistic view of how the model looks like.
Step 8: 3D Printed Model
3D printed the building by printing 3 separate parts - 1st, 2nd, and 3rd floor, then assembled them together.
