Steam Siren Plans

Introduction: Steam Siren Plans

About: My names Tim and I love to create sirens and other noisemakers of all types

This will tell you how to make one

Step 1: Making the Rotor

Cut the slots facing inward at a 45degree angle

Step 2: Making the Stator

Cut the slots at the OPPOSITE 45 degree angle

Step 3: The Horn and Body

When the steam comes in it is cut with a saw toothed edge disc( not shown ), for the air to go around and then into the stator to make the rotor spin( similar to a hero engine

Don't forget the whistle valve

Step 4: Your Done!!!

Here is your finished steam siren

The first steam sirens were used on steamboats or ferries, as a collision alarm signal

I am currently buying a steam siren on eBay to look at so that I can build my own siren correctly

That's a neat design idea :) I'd love to see a video of the finished project in use.
