Introduction: Steelers Keychain

In my first-year engineering class, I made a steelers jersey keychain for a project. I was very proud of how it came out and now I will help you guys make your own 3d printed jersey keychain.

Supplies

The only supplies needed are a 3d printer, a 3d printing software, and onshape.

Step 1:

.First open a new Onshape document using mm as your measurements and make a part studio

Step 2:

Next, using these dimensions make the jersey sketch. That will serve as your base before you add on the other parts of the jersey

Step 3:

Next, extrude your sketch and make the extrude 2.5 mm thick. You can change the color if you'd like.

Step 4:

Next on the shirt or jersey base make a sketch of the number you want. These are the dimensions for the #1 but you can choose any number you want.

Step 5:

Next. extrude your number 1mm. I choose to color mine yellow to resemble the steelers, but you may keep the color or choose a different color pattern for a different team.

Step 6:

after that, extrude that same sketch except backwards so it comes out on the other side. you will have to flip the axis it extrudes on and make your extrude 3.5mm thick.

Step 7:

Next, when you go to create your next sketch, after hitting sketch press the A on the top bar. That will allow you to type in the last name of what player you want the jersey to be of. Make sure you resize the bar to fit on the jersey how you would like.

Step 8:

Next, extrude the last name and make it 0.75mm thick

Step 9:

Next, using the same tool as the last name, create the team's name on the front of the jersey to show what teams jersey you are making.

Step 10:

Next, extrude the team name 0.75mm on the front of the jersey.

Step 11:

Next, on the corner of the jersey or the sleeve put the same number you used earlier. The dimensions shown above are for the #1 but any number is fine.

Step 12:

Next, extrude that sketch by 0.5mm

Step 13:

Next do the exact same thing on the other side using the same dimensions and all.

Step 14:

Next, on the left sleeve put a whole using the dimensions shown above. This will serve as your hole for the key ring to make it a key chain.

Step 15:

after, just simply extrude remove the whole and use blind or through all to make sure it goes all the way through the jersey.

Step 16:

Next, find the fillet tool which looks like a cube with a curved edge and use it to curve the two corners shown in the image above with a radius of 5mm.

Step 17:

Next use fillet on the two corners below the other 2 corners used above with a radius of 0.75mm this time.

Step 18:

Lastly, use the fillet tool one last time to curve the bottom two corners with a radius of 0.75mm once again.
