Introduction: Storage System

This Storage System works great as it's:

  • Simple
  • Inexpensive
  • Easy to find stuff.

How it works: Stuff is grouped into different boxes and these are found by the removable letter on the side. For example:

B is for Bike stuff
C is for Canoe stuff
T is for Tools

Give it ago, you may find it a game changer.

Supplies

Plastic crates with lids.
Beverage cans with removable labels.
Marker pen
Scissors

Step 1: Removable Labels

The intelligence of the system comes from the large removable labels.

To make these:
Peel a removable label off a beverage can. It may take some research to find cans where the label can be peeled off and reused. I conducted research investigating craft beer cans.

Step 2: Indexing

To make the letter index which will stick on the outside of a box:

Draw a letter on the removed beverage can label corresponding to a word which describes the box's contents.
Cut the outline with scissors.
Stick the letter on the outside of the box.

If you have followed this instructable you will have an useful storage system and be able to find stuff when you need to.
