Introduction: Strawberry Sunrise

About: good. bye.

Okay, so I know I’ve been sort of bombarding you guys with frozen drinks lately – but let me remind you that it’s creeping up on that time of year..summer! And the warm air (in Western Washington anyway) has arrived. And with it, people are demanding more refreshing drinks. Who could blame them for wanting to cool off? Nothing can get any more thirst quenching than a blended drink with a little bit of Al-cee-hol in it…right?

So here we have a sweet chilly cocktail, once again made with real fruit! And as always a little booze for an extra kicker. Strawberries, orange juice, peach schnapps and some amaretto combine to make the Strawberry Sunrise the perfect cocktail to cool off on a steamy afternoon…in June. (they do exist)

Strawberry Sunrise

1oz Amaretto Liqueur

1oz Peach Schnapps

8 – 10 Rinsed and hulled strawberries (fresh is best but frozen is fine as well)

1oz Orange Juice

5-6 ice cubes

This recipe is simple after you prepare the strawberries. Throw everything in a blender and blend for about 25 seconds on the crush ice setting. Pour into a glass and garnish with a strawberry and an orange wheel. VIOLA. Your refreshing boozed up fruit smoothie awaits.

Need more booze? Simply add an ounce of your favorite vodka to the mix. Recipe turns out about 2 cocktails.
