Introduction: Strawbots: Mods
How many times do you follow the instructions with a building set, or something else you have to put together .Strawbots provide the opportunity for endless hours of creativity.
Once you've built the standard Strawbot, whether it's Harvey 1.0, Harvey 2.0 or the instructables robot, you may want to venture further. This short instructable will send you in the right direction.

Step 1: Colour and Face
Colour is the simplest modification to make to your Strawbot. Have fun with different colour combinations. As soon as I started changing colours I started playing around with different face plate shapes as well. This gives the robot a totally different look. You can find the additional face plate design in the PDF on page 1 of this instructable.
Step 2: Weapons and Accessories
Weapons are in development, and I've included the templates for the Gatling gun and the Strawbots Blaster. Instructions will follow, but in the meantime you should be able to figure out construction of the guns based on the pictures provided.
It's probably just easier to come up with your own designs. The more punch sizes you have and the more straws you have will determine the complexity of designs you can come up with. I find that the super long bendy straws that I imported from China add the best details to my Strawbots.
The jet pack was designed be one of my students, who decided to take the leg template piece from Harvey 1.0 and re-purpose the design. BRILLIANT!! Why didn't I think of that.
The possibilities are endless. Have fun with it and see what you can come up with.

Sorry there are not detailed instructions of each gun. If you print the PDF page, the bottom 3 pieces are used to make the gun on the last page. Look closely at the pictures and you should be able to figure it out. The pieces just wrap around a central straw. The Gatling gun is the easier weapon to build. It needs two of the circular pieces and the small rectangular piece. Good luck!
