String Art Wall Piece

After buying Yarn balls, i have a question “ what i make with this yarn ball?”

Answer is String Art on board.

With yarn i want to make something complex and with more colors.

I have 7 different colors for my string wall art piece.

Lets start make string art.

Collect all supplies for make this art piece.

Supplies

1> MDF Board 4mm thickness 1.5’ x 2’ feet

2> 7 different color yarn

3> ½” length Nail 500 piece (Approx)

Step 1: Draw Lines for Nail

First take a board in size of 2x1.5 feet .

Draw outlines.

Draw random lines inside to make a outlines region for strings.

Step 2: Make a Dots for Nail.

After drawing lines i make a dots for positioning nail on drawing lines.

Distance between 2 dots is approx. 12 to 15 mm.

Step 3: Attach Nail.

Attach nail on border of drawing.

Distance between 2 nail is approx 12 to  15 mm for dense string art.

It takes approx 500 nails to fill all randomly drawn borders.

Step 4: Attach Strings.

• Start attach string.
• First select any color and any place on board to start.
• Make a knot on starting point and check it twice.
• Now yo select region and tie strings around nails and make web of string from selected region.
• Repeat this with different color of yarn for different region.
• At ending of region tight a knot to complete the end.
• I make 36 different color region as below. All are selected randomly.

1. Yellow region = 5 
2. Red region = 5
3. Orange = 5
4. Sky blue = 5
5. Dark blue = 6
6. Green = 5
7. Violet = 5

• Making this string art takes 5 hrs to complete.
• After completion we have board with string art.

Step 5: Hang on Wall

Use screw to hand this string art piece on wall.
