Sugru is a self-setting rubber for fixing, modifying and improving stuff. It molds like play-dough, bonds to almost anything and turns into a strong, flexible silicone rubber overnight. It comes in several colors, and is great for all sorts of things. Let's make a badge, or patch, for showing off your skills on your stuff.

Supplies-
Sugru in the desired colors (You can mix colors if you like!)
A badge design

Step 1: Choose Your Design

First, find a design for your badge. Here we're using a Python badge for Los Hackers.

Step 2: Open the Sugru

The Sugru comes in little metallic packets to help keep it fresh. There's dotted lines on each packet showing where to cut the packet open. Go ahead and cut open these three sides, peel the packet open, and scrape the sugru out.

Step 3: Knead and Mix the Sugru

Knead it up for about 30 seconds to get it activated. This is a good time to mix up different colors! Your working time with Sugru is only about 30 minutes, so don't take too long.

Step 4: Make the Backing

Make a ball of Sugru, then flatten it out into a round sheet, about 1/8" thick. Then, take a bit of sugru and make a loop, and put that around the rim of the backing.

Step 5: Finalize the Design

Add whatever other shapes you need to finish your design. Then, let it sit 12 hours, and you can attach your badge to a jacket, a backpack, or whatever you like!
