Introduction: Sunrise Alarm Clock

About: I have always loved woodworking and inventing. I will try to post an instructable about everything that I think is good. Visit my website to see instruction videos about home improvements with general contract…
I always wanted to wake up at sunrise every morning. As the seasons changed I had to reset my alarm clock, so I came up with the idea to make a light sensitive alarm that would go off at sunrise.  It is a very simple project that took me less than 10 minutes to make. I did not mount the alarm and batteries to a holder because a wanted it attached to my bed. This is my first instructable so please tell me if there is anything I could do better. Thanks. Here is a video of the first test  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMZOZfRRIzw&feature=youtu.be

Step 1: Supplies

For this project you will need pliers, wire connectors, a screwdriver, batteries, a batter holder, wire cutters/strippers, electrical wire, and alarm, a photocell (light sensor).

Step 2: Step 1

First attach the positive wire to the alarm.

Step 3: Step 2

Attach the negative wire to the switch.

Step 4: Step 3

Cut and strip two wires. These will be the wires that connect the alarm to the light sensor, so make the wires long enough to reach from the alarm to a window.

Step 5: Step 4

Attach one wire to the switch and the other to the alarm.

Step 6: Step 5

Use the wire connectors to connect the wire from the switch and the wire from the alarm to the photocell (light sensor). Put the alarm near your bed and the photocell near a window and turn the switch on at night.
