Introduction: Super Launcher

Super Launcher is a wearable launcher that allow users to launch the blade. The launcher is consist of a base that holds the motors and blade, three motors (micro servo)- one for releasing the rubber band to push the blade, the other two is connected with wheels so when the blade launches, the spinning wheels can push the blade go further. Users can take everything off from their arms since each part of the device is connected with hook & look. The wristband is made of knitting material so it can better fit different sizes of user’s arm. Circuit playground and the battery are on the first wristband. There are hook & look attached to the back of the CRICKIT case and battery case so they can also be easily taken off.

Supplies

LED strip

1 Micro Servo

2 CD/DVD motor / 2 micro ser

2 pulleys for CD motor

Circuit Playground

Cricket

robber band

hook and loop

2 knitted wristband

AAA battery case

3 AAA batteries

3D Printing base for Crickit

Laser cutting base - material: medium wood

Laser cutting channel - material: acrylic

Laser cutting blade - material: mat board

Step 1: Step 1: Laser Cutting the Base

Using medium wood to laser cut the base for the launcher., use acrylic to print out two channels and mat board for the blade.

Step 2: Step 2: Install Channel

Put hook and loop tape through the base. Install the channels; then put tape in the back to stablize the channel.

Step 3: Step 3: Tie the Rubber Band

Cut a rubber band and tie it through two holes on the side.

Step 4: Step 4: Connect Wheels to Motor

Connect wheels to CD/DVD motor or micro servo. You need wires if connecting to CD/DVD motors.

Step 5: Step 5: Glue

Glue CD/DVD motor or micro servo in the front, glue micro servo in the back. Glue LED strip in the side. It is better to use zap a gap glue instead of glue gun.

Step 6: Step 6: 3D Printing Case

3D printing a case to hold the cricket. Use small screws to tighten the Crickit. Put hook and loop tape in the back of the case.

Step 7: Step 7: Connecting Motors and LED Strip to Crickit

Connecting CD/DVD motor to CRICKIT through male jumper alligator clip. Connecting micro servo to CRICKIT. Soldering LED strip to circuit playground.

Step 8: Step 8 : Put Hook and Loop Tape on the Wrist Band

Step 9: Step 9: Put Crickit on Wristband

Attach wristbands with base. Attach Crickit with the first wristband.

Step 10: Step 10: Make Code

First set motors/servos. The micro servo in the end functions as a trigger to release the rubber band, so set different degrees for that servo. For the two motors/servos in the front, set it to run at 100%. These two motors/servos are triggers when users shake their arm. When circuit playground tilt down, there will be an animation light on LED strip.
