Introduction: Telling the Difference Between an SD70ACe and an SD70ACU

Hello guys! I came to inform you on today's 'ible! This is telling the difference between SD70ACe locomotives and SD70ACU locomotives! I may do more of these in the future as well! To add on, I will be putting different pics of the SD70ACe's and SD70ACU's on each step. All pictures are from my railfanning expirience.

Supplies

All you need are some pics of SD70ACe locomotives and pics of SD70ACU locomotives.

Step 1: Nose (similarity)

SD70ACe's and SD70ACU's may have the same kind of nose: somewhat rectangularish (see pics). Forgot to mention:

- The Norfolk Southern pic is the SD70ACe
- The Canadian Pacific heritage unit is the SD70ACU

Step 2: Difference #1: Back of the Locomotive

The back of SD70ACe's and ACU's are a bit different.

- SD70ACe's have a more.........don't know what to call it, but you'll see what I mean in the pics (Still the same NS 1062)
-SD70ACU's have a more retangularish back (CP 7038)

Step 3: Difference #2: Fuel Tank

You may be thinking "Knexified....what do you mean?" Well, SD70ACe's have a regular shape with a rectangular part above it (NS 1062 still same pic. Will be the same throughout), while SD70ACU's have cylinderish parts above the fuel tank (again CP heritage unit. Will be this pic and the 7038 as always).

Step 4: End!

Technically, there is only 2 differences. Not much different the SD70ACe is to an SD70ACU. But that is all for today! Until "knex" time, keep on riding the rails!
