Introduction: Tetris Cube
The best selling game of all time has been combined with the difficulty of the best selling toy of all time. Tetris and Rubik's cube come together to make the "Tetris Cube"! All of the pieces fit perfectly to make a cube which is enclosed inside of a clear case. With the top giving a satisfying 'click' when placed upon the case after completion of the cube, this product is designed to be enjoyable yet challenging.
The guide below will teach you how to make your very own Tetris Cube with little more than a 3D printer.
Take the pieces out and see how fast you can get them back into a perfect cube. Can you conquer the cube?
Step 1: Printing the Pieces
There are 7 types of pieces in a true game of Tetris, however this version uses 5 and one filler piece.
The premade pieces will be linked below, they are: The L, N, T, I, 2x2 Block, and 1x1 filler piece.
Listed below are the amount of pieces to be printed:
L - 13
N - 7
T - 6
I - 3
2x2 Block - 1
1x1 Filler Piece - 1
The pieces are saved as .STL files and are ready to print
Step 2: Making the Case
To keep all of the pieces contained, a case must be made. The case is made out of clear plexiglass for someone to be able to see into it. The case plans are linked below and were made by using MakerCase, keep in mind the case is designed for 2.75mm plexiglass. Using a laser engraver, the case will be cut out. Assemble the case pieces to make a a box and epoxy or superglue the box together on all edges except for the top.
The case is saved as a .SVG file and is ready to be cut out using a laser engraver

Step 3: Magnetizing the Top
For ease of access, the top of the cube will be sealed using magnets. The magnet size is 3x1mm and can be ordered off of Amazon. Using a drill press, drill into the corner of the case and top using a 1/8in drill bit. Drill about 1.5mm down. Next, superglue one set of magnets into the holes drilled, being consistent with the polarity of the magnets. Then, using the opposite polarity of that on the case, superglue the magents into the top, then let the superglue dry.
After the superglue is dry, test the magnets by putting the top on the case. There should be a satisfying 'click' as the magnets pull the top to the case.
Step 4: Assembling the Cube
Now that the case and pieces are made, put the pieces in the case so that it creates a perfect cube. While there are different ways to 'solve' the cube, the solution I came up with is in the picture above.
Have Fun!
