Introduction: Thanksgiving Turkey Cookies
A very tasty treat for the Thanksgiving holiday that can be prepared in just a few simple steps.
What you'll need:
3/4 cup of Crisco
1 cup of sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon of vanilla
2.5 cups of flour
A bowl to mix things in
A greased cookie sheet
A mixer of some sort
Sprinkles, chocolate chips, etc
Cookie cutters
A knife
Before you begin be sure to preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
Step 1:
Mix together 3/4 cup of Crisco, 1 cup of sugar, 2 eggs, 1 teaspoon of vanilla in a bowl thoroughly.
Step 2:
After mixing, pour 2.5 cups of flour into the mixture.
Step 3:
Stir the flour into the mixture evenly.
Step 4:
After mixing in the flour, place the dough on a cookie sheet and flatten out.
Step 5:
Place your hand in the dough and use a knife to cut an outline of it in the dough.
Step 6:
Seperate the outlining dough away from the hand.
Step 7:
Using chocolate chips, sprinkles, etc, decorate the cookie to your liking.
Step 8:
Use cookie cutters to shape the remainig dough and decorate to your liking.
Step 9:
Place the cookies on a greased baking sheet.
Step 10:
Place the cookies in the oven and bake for 10 minutes.
Step 11:
Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.
Step 12:
ENJOY!!!

These are in the oven right now. The dough was pretty dry, so we added an extra egg and it came out pretty good. We made a whole bunch of hand turkeys with my 2 year old's hand.
