Intro: the Belt Screwdriver

If you are a MacGyver type of person, you will need this belt.

You never know when you might need a screwdriver.

In this Instructable, I demonstrate a way to add a screwdriver to your belt.

As long as you are wearing your belt, you'll always have a screwdriver with you.

STEP 1: Remove the Prong From Your Belt

STEP 2: Bend the Screwdriver in the Shape of a Prong

I used one of those voltage testing screwdrivers.

I find them very handy as they also fit some Philips screws.

I broke off the handle and bent the screwdriver to make a prong.

STEP 3: Cut Off the Excess

STEP 4: Finish It!

The screwdriver was too shiny for my belt, so I heated it up with a blowtorch to remove the shine.

Now it looked almost the same as the buckle.

Next time you need a screwdriver, just take it out from your belt.

If you need a better grip, you can leave it in the belt and use the buckle as the handle.

I could see my brother using that!! :) I have to admit, there have been MANY times when I desparately needed a screwdriver and didn't have one. The only problem is I don't wear belts either... but I liked the inovation!!

I bought a set that attaches to my keyring with a flat & phillips. I find it comes in handy

The metal was too soft. I guess it could work for some belts.

Great idea. I am wondering if the factory belt clip is strong enough itself. Just grind the shape or file it to the flat head?
