Introduction: The Perfect Guacamole Recipe

Do not know what to do with that avocado, or how to make the perfect guacamole? Here is the formula my friend taught me. I use this recipe for years and do not want to change a thing! 

Step 1: Ingredients

1 large avocado (or 2 small ones like hass avocados)
1 small white onion (or half of a medium onion)
1 medium size “meaty” tomato
1 TBS of olive oil
2-3 TSP of white vinegar
Bunch of fresh cilantro
Salt to taste
Ground pepper

Step 2:

Chop fine tomato and onion.

Step 3:

Remove cilantro leaves from the stems and finely chop the leaves.

Step 4:

Put avocado in a mixing bowl and smash it with the fork…

Step 5:

…until it looks like this.

Step 6:

Add chopped tomatoes, onions and cilantro to the bowl and mix well together.

Step 7:

Add 1 TBS of olive oil, 2 or 3 TSP of white vinegar, salt to taste and a little bit of black pepper. Mix everything well.

Step 8:

Serve and enjoy with corn chips.

Step 9: NOTE

What you can do differently is using a squeeze of a lime or lemon instead of white vinegar. I tried everything, but white vinegar is what I like the best, this is just my personal preference. You have to add juice (or vinegar) by a teaspoon and check the taste until you feel the perfection.

    Nice basic recipe, the way it should be. A lot of people ruin it by adding all kinds of unnecessary stuff. My only addition would be to add your hot peppers of choice, mix and lay plastic wrap right on it and let the flavors blend for an hour in the fridge.

    Def needs red onion, lime and fresh minced garlic to make it "perfect"

    yes, you are right! red onion is a great option, adding garlic is a very good idea (i have not thought of it)... i did try lime juice and lemon juice, but white vinegar is what i like the most. though originally i think lime would be the best option. thanks for the ideas :)

    Contrary to what another person said, you do use the meat of the pepper and don't use the seeds or the membrane holding them if you don't want it too hot.

    Sounds good! I put in chopped garlic, lime juice, and chili powder, no vinegar.

    it is a matter of personal taste. lime juices does very well in this recipe... i love it the way it is though :)

    Try adding one small to medium jalapeno. If you don't want it too hot, don't use the meat from the pepper.

    Great recipe. I was going to suggest changing the vinegar for lime but you beat me to it at the end of your instructable. I like lime better, and I'd double the recipe (or it wouldn't last long) but other than that - perfect.

    yes, lime is another perfect option for this recipe! doubling would be good for the party! it's usually gone very fast :)

    Actually I need to double it just for me. Somehow when I sit down with the Guac and some corn chips it just magically disappears.

    Have you tried using red onion instead of white so it's a bit sweeter

    next time i do, i will use red onion, it is a very good option!
