Introduction: The Steel Pipe Guide

Steel pipe is found in homes, new and old. Air compressor plumbing also uses steel pipe.

Step 1: Working With It!

Cut steel pipe with a pipe cutter or hacksaw. Thread it with a threading kit and cutting oil. Use 2 wrenches for tightening or loosening steel pipe. Use PTFE tape or pipe dope for sealing. Froget the tape, be a pro and use dope.

Step 2: Problems

If steel pipe is in a damp area, it will rust fast. If brass is somehow connected to it (as in a valve) it will rust like crazy. Galvanized steel pipe is fine for water or sewer, but do not directly connect it to brass or copper.

Step 3: Air Compressor Mania

If you want to plumb an air compressor, you can also do this: Take an old gas tank and hook up steel pipes to it! This will get you compressed air easily.
