Introduction: Triple Bunk Beds
Needed to turn my double bunk bed room into a triple bunk bed room. By using the layout of an Ikea bunk bed, added another bunk and replaced all of the existing 1"x4" boards with 2"x4"'s and 1"x 6"s. Cost was under $600.00 for both beds and took 24 hours to complete. The house will fall down before these bunk beds do!

dcady,
Thank you so much! I am by no means a "handyman," but, I have to say they turned out great! They are incredibly sturdy with plenty of head room on each bunk.

One of my favorite parts of this instructable is that the bunk beds don't look crowded; they look as though you could sit up in bed and read or watch television, plus the lines are so clean on them. Well done.

If I were you I would move the bed or the fan, It's looks really close to the top part of the bed, My sister got it in the head once from those things. I don't think that was fun

Thank you so much for the concern. Luckily the guardrail prevents anyone from climbing out on that side. The picture actually makes the fan look closer than it really is...but, you are right they could stick their hands in it.

This is awesome. Could you share a little more about how you made it?
