Introduction: Two-Player Pinball Machine

Duo Ball is a pinball game for when you want to play with your friends. Each person stand opposite of each other, on the short side. The goal of the game is to get the ball over the peak and into the other player’s goal. Use various objects like flippers and bumpers to your advantage to win.

Step 1: Cutting the Wood

The first thing we did was got the supplies we needed, listed above. We then took the wood planks and cut them down to size using a table saw. This took about two hours measuring and cutting the wood in its entirety. We cut the main base in half, then finished it off with a slant at the edge. The next piece to cut was the ends (where the scoring hole will be). Finally, we cut the sides of the playing field. This also took a long time, since we did four instead of two.

Step 2: 3D Printing

Because the main board and walls are done, it was time to obtain the bumpers and flippers. We figured that it would be easier to 3D print the items instead of crafting them out of wood. My partner and I realized that there wasn't a lot of bumper/flipper designs on the internet so we made our own in Inventor. After a lot of hours, the bumpers and flippers finally printed and we were ready to put them together.

Step 3: Putting It All Together

Now it was time to put everything together, starting with the wood. I took the base wood, propped it together and glued it with wood glue. Then i glued the side walls down and the edges. With the wood all done, I had to then glue the bumpers and flippers in the correctly measured spots and drill a hole into the ends for the scoring hole.
