Introduction: Underwater Shoebox Diorama

About: I like 3D printing, K'nex, Arduino, and tinkering with stuff.

This diorama is a fun toy. Look through the hole to see a spectacular underwater scene.

Supplies

To build this, you will need:

1 shoe box

white glue

scissors

markers

construction paper: 1 brown or yellow, 2 light blue, 1 light green, and 1 green. Any colors you want for the fish.

accessories: beads, shells, rocks, feathers, sequins etc.

green or blue tissue paper

Hot glue gun (optional)

Step 1: Lining the Box

Cut light blue paper to cover the sides and top of the box. Cut a piece of brown or yellow paper for the bottom.

Step 2: Seaweed

Cut seaweed out of the green and light green paper. Glue them on the walls or in the middle of the box.

Step 3: Peephole

in one of the short sides of the box, cut a hole to look through.

Step 4: Landscape

use your accessories to create an underwater landscape.

Step 5: Fish

Draw fish shapes on colored paper. Glue them into your landscape.

Step 6: Holes for Light

Cut 2 large holes on the lid. cover them with a piece of tissue paper.

Step 7: Finished!

You're done! To use, just hold under a light and look through the peephole.
