Introduction: Uninterrupted Solar Power (mostly)

About: I am work in a high voltage laboratory, the largest laboratory owned by a university. I am in love with electricity. I have been fortunate enough to work with a variety of green technology including fuel cells…

This is my shot at the Jack Daniels Independence Project. I have been working on this project for a few years now, although I have only made a few proof of concepts. Money is the challenge with this project and I told myself that I would be stupid not to try and enter and fund this project to the end.

The Uninterrupted power supply (Green Version)

  IDEA
Imagine being able to eliminate your generator as a portable power source without the loss of benefits. It can be a reality, I have spent countless hours researching this project and all components related to it. By using a Lithium Ion battery bank along with a Dual Layer capacitor bank and Solar panel you can get the most out of a solar panel system. You might say " what if the sun does not cooperate for a few days, how will the power be uninterrupted?" I have that taken care of by integrating a small gas generator modified to run off of propane, Isopropyl alcohol, and even liquor, as long as the alcohol volume is at least 70%. "What about the noise?" you may ask. I have taken care of that with an exhaust baffling system, I will not go into detail about this because I have not seen this design and I may apply for a patent.

If I were to be able to see this project through I have plans on two models, a man portable used more for everyday camping, tailgating etc. And a small pull behind trailer with fold out solar panels for powering  larger applications such as an RV.

If I were given the funds for this project I would not only see it through to the end but so will every Instructables member as I will post instructables on the progress every step of the way. The money awarded would go directly to the project materials, I have a day job and will not be looking to compensate for my labor.

I have been working with electronics since I was 9 years old. I was bit by the solar bug in science class when we built simple little solar car and have been interested in solar ever since. I have worked with a variety of alternative energies, Fuel Cells,Solar, Geothermal, wind, for several years and I have the knowledge and ability to get my ideas and small scale prototypes to a finished product.

Yes I am southern, please hold the jokes ;0)
