Introduction: Upgrade CNC Control Box

In this project, I am upgrading the CNC control Box with the new feature. As I use both Laser and Spindle so it makes hard to change function, that's why here I am adding DPDT Switch to change function from Spindle to Laser. There are two momentary switches the blue one is to turn ON/OFF the Machine and the Yellow one is to Turn ON/OFF. Also, the Laser control circuit was added to the Control Box with Cooling Fan. The LCD is for just showing the Text of my name. 

This Control Box compatible with 3018 CNC or Similar CNC Machines.

All Designing and Animation is done in Fusion360.

Supplies

  1. M3 x 10 - 4 pieces ( for Top Lid)
  2. M5 x 15 - 2 pieces ( for Back Lid)
  3. 3mm x 15mm - 2 pieces ( for fan)
  4. 40x40x10mm Fan 24v/12v - 1 pieces
  5. SPDT Switch - 1 pieces
  6. Momentary Switch - 2 pieces
  7. Emergency Stop Button - 1 pieces
  8. Hot Glue-Gun
  9. Wires
  10. Zip-Tie 100mm - 20 pieces
  11. LCD (optional)

Step 1: Design in Fusion360

Note: If you want to make same as this then download these STL Files otherwise Not.

Step 2: Download STL File Without Front Holes

Note: Download these STL file if don't need Front holes in Control Box.

Step 3: 3D Print the Parts

These parts are Old version Design. Provided above are latest version of Design.

New Design include only 3 Parts.

Step 4: Wiring Connection Diagram

Step 5: Insert the SPDT Switch, Momentary Switch and LCD

Note: LCD part is option if you want LCD then you can use otherwise not. Also You can use single momentary switch if you are not using the Bluetooth module.

Note: DPDT Switch is used for change function From CNC to Laser or visa versa.

Step 7: Wiring of SPDT Switch to CNC Mainboard

Step 8: Attach the CNC Mainboard and Do Wire Harness

Do Wringing harness according what components you are using. here I am also use Bluetooth module which you can see in image. If you want add the Bluetooth feature in CNC then let me know in comment I will provide information related to it .

Step 9: Attaching the Laser Circuit

Step 10: Complete the Wire Harness

Note: Close Back and Top Lid if you don't want mount on something.

Note: Don't Close Back and Top Lid until you mount on surface.

Step 11: Wiring the Motors and Other Cables to the CNC Mainboard

Step 12: Attach Fan to Back Lid With Screw or Glue

Make sure the wire length is enough to reach at power pin on CNC Circuit.

Step 14: Mount the Control Box on the Surface

I am mounting the control Box on the wood surface with wood screws.

Note: You can keep on Floor also.
