the solution is (first image)usb speaker

STEP 1: You Need

1.usb data cable
2.plug of speaker

STEP 2: Instructions

First,
Cut the small end of usb data cable
Then, you can see four wires of different colours. Out of these four wire, we have to use red and blue wires(not green and white)
cut the second end of the adapter.Open it.
Connect red wire to positive terminal
and blue wire to negative terminal(see the following images)
that's all !
connect usb data cable to usb port of computer and other end to speaker.
now when you start computer, speaker also start without adapter !

Speaker? Wasn't that a power suply? Btw it will provide only +5 volts...
Well can we have +5, +5, then half another USB power supply to give us our 12v? Plug it into USB hub.
I think I got your point. Each usb port can provide +5v. In theory, you'll need 3 ports/cables like that to sum 12v~15v. Actually, I don't know if you can do this. Do you really want to "waste" 3 usb ports to get 12v? I don't think so. In my opnion, this instructable is useful for some aplications like leds for keyboards (my case) or little fans or simple audio amplifiers, etc... If you want 12v, you can get from molex plug, using the yellow and black wires. You can get 7v too, but I don't remender how to do this. Someone correct me if necessary. Sorry by my poor english. God bless you.
Pretty well perfect English. and no i don't think it is worth it, however the idea that you can have a generic plug to run power through is a nice thought. Pick up a couple of the female adapters and add them to your next projects.
I'm actually curious if this would work. I'm looking to power a 15v amplifier via the 3 usb ports on a power bank and was wondering if that was even possible
You can't just add the voltages of two USB ports together. Each port's 5 volts comes from the same internal power supply.
You never specified what type of speaker you were running. And also, this will only work if the speaker only requires five volts to run.
Good instructable but misleading. You have made a usb POWER SUPPLY for a Speaker not a USB SPEAKER like stated in the title.
