About: Freelance social media manager and content creator who loves all things nerdy!

Is your little one obsessed with Vampirina and the Hauntley family who are just trying to make it in the human world? Then a Vampirina birthday party might be in your future! This fun DIY photo backdrop uses paper plates as the base so you won't break the bank decorating! Find out how to transform purple, blue and black paper plates into the gang from Disney Junior’s Vampirina!

Step 1: Supplies Needed

  • Paper Plates
  • White Yarn
  • Lavender Tablecloth
  • Hole Punch
  • Painter’s Tape
  • Vampirina characters template (DOWNLOAD IT HERE)
  • Scissors
  • Glue Stick

Step 2: Create the Layout

Start by measuring your wall space. Lay your plates out on the floor based on those measurements.

Now it's time to determine how many character and spiderweb plates you'll need to create. Mark each of the character and spiderweb plates with sticky notes.

Step 3: Create the Characters

Download the free template and cut out the shapes to create Vampirina and Demi.

Use a glue stick to adhere the shapes to the paper plates.

Step 4: Create the Spiderwebs

Use a hole punch to punch 8 holes around the edge of the plate. Thread some yarn through the holes to create the star pattern on the left.

Tie a piece of yarn to one strand about an inch from the center. Wrap the piece around each subsequent strand going clockwise to create the spiderweb effect. Tie it off once it gets back to the first strand.

Repeat with additional strands until your spiderwebs are complete.

Step 5: Install the Backdrop

Hang the plastic tablecloth on the wall.

Tip: cut holes in the tablecloth where you're placing the plates so that their weight doesn't pull the tablecloth down.

Create loops of painter’s tape in these holes to hang them on the wall. Press the plates onto the tape, in the order you mapped out on the floor.
