Lithium Ion batteries are the current and most popular type of cell phone batteries. The disadvantage of this type of battery is that they are little expensive. They are normally supplied with only top end phones. They are lighter than other batteries and also offer a longer life time. This type of battery may get damaged by overcharging.

Mobile phone batteries also have nickel cadmium cell phone batteries which are a little old technology. This is one type of rechargeable battery that is common. This type of battery suffers from memory effect and they have to be completely discharged before recharging otherwise there are chances that is get damaged. They are cheapest type of mobile battery and so that it is possible to bring down the mobile phone value, by using this type of battery. Nickel metal hydrid batteries are better than nickel cadmium batteries and it is made from non toxic materials and is environmental friendly.
