4 tbsp canned beans
1/4 zucchini
1 small carrot peeled
1 small potato peeled
2 tbsp whole wheat flour or gluten-free sub
1/8 tsp salt or to taste
1/8 tsp pepper or to taste
1/4 tsp turmeric ground
1/8 tsp cayenne ground
1/2 tsp marjoram ground

Flax egg:

2,5 tbsp water

Other ingredients:
2 avocado
1 big tomato sliced
4 mushrooms small
4 iceberg salad leaves
2 tbsp BBQ sauce
1 cucumber small
1 bell pepper orange
2 tsp sesame seeds
1 tbsp olive oil for frying

Step 1: Make Flax Egg

Ground 1 tbsp flax seeds in a coffee grinder. Mix flax meal with 2,5 tbsp water and leave it for 15 minutes.

Step 2: Cook Mushrooms

Meanwhile slice the mushrooms.

Heat oil in a pan and cook mushrooms for about 10 minutes, stirring until golden brown.

Let them cool aside.

Step 3: Prepare Vegan Patties

Make spice mix. Mix ground spices - salt, pepper, cayenne, turmeric and marjoram.

Chop the vegetables - potato, zucchini and carrot.

Add chopped vegetables and drained beans in food processor.

Process the vegetables, then add spices, flax meal and flour and pulse with food processor again.

Step 4: Cook Vegan Patties

Heat a grill pan. Brush with olive oil.

Wet your hands and divide the veggie mix into 2 parts.

Form with your hands to make a pattie and cook in a pan on medium heat for about 2 -2,5 minutes on each side until golden brown.

Step 5: Prepare Vegetables for Burger

Slice bell pepper, tomato and cucumber as shown in pictures.

Cut avocado in half and remove the pit and skin.

Cut the bottom of avocado so it can stand straight, as shown on the last picture.

Step 6: Assemble Your Burgers

Put the avocado with cut bottom on a board.

Put 1/4 mushrooms in the hole of avocado.

Put 2 slices of tomato on top, then add tiered salad leaf.

Add vegan pattie and drizzle it with your favorite BBQ sauce, then add cucumber slices, bell pepper and a salad leaf on top

Add another part of mushrooms in avocado hole and cover the burger. Carefully press it.

Step 7: Enjoy Vegan Burger

Sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
Repeat the instructions to assemble the second burger and enjoy!

Oh funny. I was thinking you made avocado buns as the picture shows the buns being green. Nevertheless, looks tasty and I will try it. Thanks!

Yes! Well, we peeled avocado and removed the pit. Avocado buns are much healthier and look better than bread slices, right? Oh, if you make it, we'll love to see it! Tag us on Instagram @cookingjourneyblog or if you don't use Instagram, our twitter @cooking_journey

Well it depends. I make all my own food from scratch. One of the things I've learned is to make breads with Ancient Grains and not using any yeast. So that is pretty healthy. I also adore making Naan from Einkorn flour and yogurt; throwing it on the Tandoori oven to cook. Avocados are one of my favorite foods though. You've combined a lot of tasty elements within the recipe that does not really require a bun. Thank you again.

Haha, if anyone needs more garlic here, it is possible to add garlic powder to the raw patty mixture, but we love it this way!

I also. Garlic and onions are so toxic to your system. But it seems the thing that people want to do nowadays. It is such a delight when I occasionally run across someone that knows how to infuse flavor with herbs and other spices. It shows the prowess of an accomplished cook.

I'm definitely not vegan, but this actually looks tasty. Thanks for sharing. I'll have to try preparing this for my sister who eats in a manner more closely akin to a vegan diet.

Welcome to the world of the vegan who knows no such thing as boxed, frozen and canned food - LOL. Everything we make turns into a big production. Sometimes when I am very tired I muse how nice it must be to reach in the freezer and pull out a frozen pizza.
