Introduction: Watermelon and Chervil PopCorn

I just love popcorn and after I made candy, I have been dieing to make flavored PopCorns. I had a certain picture in mind when I thought about Watermelon and Chervil Popcorn and wanted to badly try making it. So today I tried it finally. I am so so so happy with it. I loved the taste. I only wish the colour was more brighter. Guess next t. Hope you like it. Enjoy!

Step 1: Ingredients

For Making PopCorn:

  1. Corn Kernels - 1/2 cup
  2. Vegetable oil - 3 tsp

For Making the watermelon sauce:

  1. Watermelon Juice - 1 cup
  2. Honey - 1/3 cup
  3. Sugar - 2 cups
  4. Butter - 2tsp
  5. Baking Soda - 1tsp

For Making the Chervil sauce:

  1. Chervil Juice - 1 cup
  2. Honey - 1/3 cup
  3. Sugar - 2 cups
  4. Butter - 2tsp
  5. Baking soda - 1tsp

For the final presentation:

  1. Raisins.

Step 2: Make PopCorn

  1. Heat oil in a pan
  2. When oil is hot, put the corn kernels
  3. Close the lid tightly
  4. Cook for a minute until all the kernels have popped
  5. Discard the unpopped kernels

    The popcorn is ready.

Step 3: Make Watermelon and Chervil Juice

Steps to make Watermelon juice:

  1. Cut slices of watermelon.
  2. Place the slices in a thin clean cloth.
  3. Squeeze the cloth and collect the juice in a container.

Steps to make Chervil juice:

  1. Wash the chervil and place the leaves in a blender and blend to a smooth paste.
  2. Add water if required.
  3. Transfer the smooth paste in a thin clean cloth.
  4. Squeeze the cloth and collect the juice in a container.

Step 4: Make Watermelon Caramel Sauce and Chervil Caramel Sauce

  1. Mix watermelon juice, sugar, honey and butter in a pan on medium high heat
  2. Mix well
  3. When it starts bubbling, dont mix. Allow it to cook.
  4. Drop a few drops of sauce in cold water. When it forms semi solid crystals, add baking soda and mix well. The Watermelon Caramel Sauce is ready.
  5. Please note: Only for watermelon caramel sauce, I added a little colour as it became very pale.
  6. Repeat above steps with chervil juice instead of watermelon juice and the chervil caramel sauce is ready.

Step 5: Make Watermelon and Chervil PopCorn

  1. Pour the watermelon caramel sauce on the popcorn and mix well.
  2. Spread the coated popcorn on a greased foil and let is cool to room temperature.
  3. The Watermelon Popcorn is ready.
  4. Repeat above steps with chervil sauce instead of watermelon and the Chervil PopCorn is ready.
