Introduction: Wooden Book Helper
This Instructable will show you how to build a small triangle that holds your book open. It comes in very handy and is easy to use
Step 1: Supplies/Tools
The first step is to gather your supplies. You will need the following:
• A large piece of 3/4 in. plywood
• Sanding sponge/sandpaper
• Jigsaw (or similar other)
• Drill with a 1 in. drill bit
• Shellac (optional)
Step 2: Drawing
Draw out a triangle on the corner of the plywood, making sure that the corner is 90 degrees. Make the longest side of the triangle roughly 3-4 inches long.
Step 3: Drilling
The next step is drilling. I have tried to cut it out first but then there is the risk of the wood splintering near the thin edges. Use the one inch drill bit.
Step 4: Cutting It Out
Use the jigsaw to carefully along the line at an angle. Make sure you don't go very fast.
Step 5: Sanding/Smoothing
Use a sanding sponge to smooth the rough edges. A sponge am handy because it can handle curves and edges easier than sandpaper.
Step 6: Finishing - Optional
Paint it use Shellac or other finisher to make it shiny and glossy.
Step 7: Use It!
Put your thumb into the hole and press the right angle into the book seam. Works good if you want to read on your side.

Quite possibly one the most simplistic, yet awesome things I've seen on here.

this would be annoying to do.

I like your idea. I think I'd like to have more than 90 degrees on that though. Simple enough to make, think I'll try it.
