Wooden Magazine Holder

This Wooden Magazine Holder is designed to fit your 13-inch laptop, books, magazines and more!

Material:

• scrap wood
• abandoned street signs

Step 1: Step 1: Make the Side Pieces

Goal:

• 12’x 6.5’ (x2)

Process:

• Find a large piece of scrap wood measure out 6.5' in width and do a vertical cut on the band saw.

Step 2: Step 2: Make the Side Pieces

• Measure out 12' in length and perform 2 horizontal cuts on each piece of wood on the Miter Saw.
• You will end up with 2 pieces of 12’x 6.5’

Step 3: Step 3: Cut the Angles

• Draw out the angles on your two pieces of wood leaving 1.5' on the top
• Adjust the Miter Saw to your ideal angle and make the cuts!

Step 4: Step 4: Slits for Handles

• Measure 1.5' on each piece of wood and use a Band Saw to cut through the wood.

Step 5: Step 5: Handle!

• Take your abandoned street signs, cut it to 14'X1.5 using a guillotine shear.
• Bend it at 90 degrees leaving 2.5' at each end
• And fit it in to the side pieces (if the slits are too narrow, sand it down)

Step 6: Step 6: Make Front, Back, Base Pieces

Use a Miter Saw and Table Saw to perform horizontal and vertical cuts until you get:

• Front: 8x9.5
• Back: 10x9.5
• Base: 5.5/8x9.5'

Step 7: Step 7: Front Piece Curve

• Get your front piece 8x9.5 and mark a curve
• Perform relief cuts on the band saw

Step 8: Step 8: Assemble

Clamp down all size and use a nail gun to secure all sides

Step 9: Step 9: Assemble Handle

• Clamp on the wood and handle to the table
• Drill a hole: small one first and then bigger one through wood/handle/wood
• Find a nut and bolt that fits and fasten it
