Intro: Wooden R2D2

Nice decoration for Star Wars fans

STEP 1: Cut and Glue

I roughly cut some rounds of a 2 cm plywood, about 8 of them, and glued them all together to form kind of a tower...

Then using a sending tool, (I used an electric Angle Grinder) form the shape of the R2D2.

STEP 2: Making the Legs

From some scrap wood I cut out the 3 legs, made a hole at the top end and a hole at the body.

I then used a Dowel Pins to attach the two side legs to the body.

The small from leg is attached with glue to a hole made at the bottom of the body

Cool design. Are you planning on painting it or leaving it a raw wood finish?

I kept it raw. I like the layers and the different colors.
I actually gave it to a friend which is a Start Wars fan...
